The role

This is a data focused role which is embedded within the Editorial & Marketing teams across EMEA regions. You’ll be responsible for delivering actionable insights, reporting on performance metrics and using research to help inform digital strategies benefiting VICE’s editorial, commercial and product teams. You'll be based in Londen, Amsterdam or Berlin.



  • Design and implement reports that track key business metrics and deliver actionable insights to key internal stakeholders. You’ll work with these stakeholders to help define business reporting requirements
  • Generate insights and recommendations to help shape editorial and content strategy, ensuring the communication of this information on a regular basis
  • Keep editorial and social teams informed with their progress against brand, digital and social based KPI's
  • Construct highly automated reports which monitor the consumption of VICE’s video and written work across the dozens of platforms that it publishes content, in order to track and optimise our distribution strategy
  • Collaborate with the rest of the marketing team to build and optimise VICE’s digital and social strategies
  • Investigate competitors in the digital space and research platform trends in order to keep teams up to date with strategies and suggestions that innovate our output
  • Conduct quantitative and qualitative audience research for the VICE brand and in advance of special projects.
  • Act as a resource to deliver ad hoc data and insights requests from across the business, including briefs related to commercial projects and data journalism requests for VICE stories
  • Partner with the Global Business Analytics teams on the integration and integrity of multiple editorial and platform data sources into VICE’s data warehouse


  • You'll have experience in a data or audience development focused role
  • Experience working in a digital new media company will be considered a plus. This role would suit somebody who has a strong enough understanding of journalism, news and new media to provide valuable and relevant insights for colleagues based in creative departments
  • You'll have expert knowledge of Excel, Google Sheets and Google Data Studio. You’ll need to know your way around formulas, pivot tables and have a knack for building dashboards from scratch
  • You'll have the ability to extract data using data warehouse and visualisation tools like Google BigQuery, Google Data Studio, Tableau will be considered a strong plus
  • Experience in using digital analytics tools like Google Analytics or Adobe Analytics
  • Strong knowledge of social platform insights including Facebook Insights & Ads Reporting, Twitter Analytics and YouTube Analytics
  • Strong knowledge of Keynote, PowerPoint and Google Slides
  • You'll be highly organised with strong communication and diplomacy skills, who enjoys working with lots of different stakeholders from across different departments and countries
  • You'll be emotionally intelligent and can inspire trust and confidence with your stakeholders
  • You'll have meticulous attention to detail. You will be sending key metrics out to key stakeholders so accuracy is key for ensuring that teams are building strategy off of the right information
